    Downtown Diner shows/LOTF/New Material!

    By Will | October 12, 2008

With the summer, all but dead and buried, and most out door events hibernating for the foreseeable future, we figured we’d jump on the opportunity to organize a series of shows in Oct/Nov at the Downtown Diner (Ashford). Its the breeding ground from where the interest in the band stemmed from all those years ago, and I guess to us, is a very special place to be playing again.

Those of you with semi working memories, might remember the fancy dress Halloween show we put on two years ago (Chris managed to get the entire crowd out of the building and back again in the ‘monster mash’ jam) which was a real success and superb party. This time around, we’re holding the show slightly earlier than expected, on October 19th for all ages at 7.30pm, to avoid people having to deal with the predicament of school term dates. The more that turn up, the more chance the buzz on the evening will be nuts….especially if (stating the obvious!) everyone looks like they’ve just walked off a horror film set.  Entry is £3 on the door with prizes to win for the best fancy dress Please spread the message!

Moving on: Every now and again, we ask/urge you to vote for us in various competitions and we can totally understand why your patience would run thin, but the outcomes of these things are way out of our hands. Anyway, this time, we’re asking you to show your support to our good friends, and providers of the best festival the summer holds, Lounge on the Farm.

All you’ve got to do is select ‘Lounge on the Farm’ in the specific categories they’ve been nominated for and put forward your email address to help beat ‘Spammers.’ No registering, or anything else too time consuming.

On behalf of the whole band please can you read this and do your bit for the best festival going!!!!

    2009 Dates confirmed

Well dig out your diaries, cancel your plans, declare a holiday - because we have agreed dates for LOTF 2009 with the farmer - and this year we’ll be back for three days of festival frivolity of Friday 10, Saturday 11 & Sunday 12 July 2009. That’s 339 days time. You can’t say we didn’t warn you!

    Festival Surveys & Awards

Right - now time for us to borrow 5 minutes of your time if you can spare it.  We hope you can?

FESTIVAL AWARDS - In our first year of entry we have been nominated for a whopping 5 festival awards in the UK Festival Awards. They’re a bit of an industry schmooze really - but obvs any further recognition of what we do here at LOTF can only be positive, and could play a big part in how future festivals pan out if we pull it off.  SO -  if you could click through to www.festivalawards.com, sign up, and if you agree cast your vote that LOTF was by far the bestest in 2008 for:

.. we would be much obliged! Quite what we’d do with an award for Best Festival Toilets I don’t know - hardly mantelpiece material is it? But hey you never know when these things may come in handy!  Plus one winning voter gets tickets to every winning festival next year - what a summer that would be!

FESTIVAL SURVEY - Ok, so thanks for the votes.  Now time to get a little back.  While we’ve announced the dates for 2009’s festival we’re keen to get a bit of an idea from yourselves as to what we need to keep / improve / ditch to move forward and make LOTF 09 even better than the last ones. Its all part of our ‘organic’ growth see, so if the only suggestions coming in are for The Beatles headliners we don’t quite think we’re ready yet - but honestly, ALL comments and suggestions WILL play a massive part in putting next years festival together. To fill this one out itswww.loungeonthefarm.co.uk/2008survey.htm

    The Farmhouse

Last but by no means least - our new Canterbury home The Farmhouse is open for business and well worth a visit. This weekend saw some blinding performances from Pete Molinari & Kevin Rowland on friday and saturday night. There’s plenty more musical treats to come before the end of the year - and with the restaurant open as of Thursday serving local, seasonal goodness what’s stopping you?

The Farmhouse - 11 Dover Street - Canterbury - CT1 3HD. Email us for more info.

So those places to visit again?

www.loungeonthefarm.co.uk/2008survey.htm for the LOTF customer feedback form &

www.festivalawards.com to give us a bit of a boost in the Festival Awards

Ta very much - see you in 2009!

    Kent’s bestest Music Festival

    LOTF xx

     Moving On …

Finally, we’re getting back on track with writing some more new material, to hopefully put up on the net as rough demos, to get your opinions, hopefully improving them further. Going back to the Diner shows, it also gives us a good idea of what each song is like live and how well you guys really take to it. These dates are the 9th and 23rd of November.  Anyway before that: we hope to see you, all dressed up and scary, at the Downtown Diner in Ashford, 7.30pm on the 19th of October.

    Thanks for reading this!

    Please vote for us!

    By Will | August 19, 2008

Once again another we have entered another tedious competition, and as always we urge you to please send a vote in for us! The only difference this time is that the track we have posted up, has previously been unreleased and is being used exclusively for this competition. ‘My Old Friend’ features guest female singer ‘Bean’ who really did put in an beautiful performance in the studio and we are hoping it will give us the best possible chance to go through to the next round of the competition. This would give us the opportunity to do a nationwide tour and open up a few doors for us which we desperately need.

All you have to do is click on the following link: http://memusic.metro.co.uk/users/electricriver/tunes/13385
and move the selector to the ‘love heart’ to show you like/love the track.

Simple as that. We’d also love to hear your thoughts and feedback on the song as its something we’ve been hiding for a while. Finally if you could spread the word, it would be more than appreciated by us.

See you all soon and thanks for reading this!

    Zoo8/Lounge on the farm!

    By Will | July 8, 2008

First off, a huge thanks has to go out to everyone that turned up to watch us in the BBC introducing tent at Zoo8. To have you guys stick around, right to the end, amongst all the chaos and weather, was really kind, and we obviously deeply appreciate you coming to support us over the main stage weekend headliner!

Its not long til we play our favourite local festival Lounge on the farm. We’ll be there all weekend, and encourage everyone to go because its such a unique festival in its own right. There are plenty of quality undiscovered acts that deserve your attention, appearing over weekend, and it really does have a great vibe.

We’ll be playing on the Tractor Trash stage at 6pm and have got some really great things in store for the show! Its gonna be one hell of a party and we really hope to kick start things early before the festival hot shots (New York Dolls) make their hotly anticipated appearance.

    For tickets, check out:

We hope to see you there at the show, or even better, over the whole weekend for most definitely Kent’s bestest music festival.

    By admin | April 22, 2008

First off thanks to everyone that helped us out by going to the Road To V website and leaving us comments and rating for us unfortunately we have not been chosen and the event was infact rigged surprise surprise and they had picked the finalist right from the start we found this out from the websites forum where a person claimed the event was rigged 3 weeks ago he left a link on the site to the already made finalist chart of course no one wanted to believe him but today the results where posted and sure enough %75 percent of the bands on the link finalist chart where the same as the results given today! This industry is corrupt but we do believe there are a few decent people out there and have met a couple of them along our journey anyway to the next crappy subject…

The Sinden Theater has been cancelled don’t really know why we were told there were some problems and arguments going on and that’s about it?!
